How to troubleshooting Sprints Novatel U760 USB modem:

1) Unplug the modem from the computer and turn the computer TOTALLY off. Restart it and than try again. Restarting a computer can fix alot of simple problems just like sleep to a baby.

2) How many bars of signal does Sprint Smart View show?

3) Try a different USB port.

4) What colour is the light on the side of the modem? The colour codes are:

      No light - device has no power

      Amber - Error, Something has gone wrong with the device.

      Solid Green  - Connected to PC but not any network

      Slowly Blinking Green - Device is powered and is looking for a network

      Intermittently Blinking Green - Device is connected and is sending and receiving data.

      Red - Connected to PC but has no service.

5) Go up to the top to Tools > Update Data Profile.

     Keep clicking on this for the course of a couple hours.

6) Check for an outdated Antivirus and remove it. This is often the "trouble maker" when the computer doesn't recognize the modem or will not connect.
Go to Control Panel>System Security>Action Center, Drop down the
security bar and see what antivirus program it shows. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Feature
programs and uninstall.

7) Re-install Sprint Smart View
First of all remove the modem. Once removed, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and look for Sprint Smart View. Right-click on it and press uninstall. It will guide you through the uninstallation process. Once it has uninstalled turn the computer totally off and than restart the computer. Do not insert the modem yet but insert the cd that would've come with the modem as well. Press Run when prompted and click on Software. Go to Sprint > Agape_Sprint_SmarView_2_50_0118_setup. Double click on the file and it will guide you through the installation process. Once done, reboot again. Once the computer is up and running insert your modem and open Sprint Smart View and try connecting.

8) Does the modem light up when you plug it in? Does the computer ding when you insert it? Or show the little icon that allows you to eject it safely? If it doesn't it's very likely the modem has gone bad.

9) Windows is not up to date.

    New wireless technology demands up to date computers. Use an alternate internet connection and Go to Control Panel > Windows Update. Check for and install the latest updates before trying again.

10) You are unable to connect while roaming.

     From the Mobile tab in the Settings window of Sprint SmartView, ensure
Roaming Selection is set to “Auto” or “Roam Only”. (If “Sprint Only” is selected,
you will be able to connect only when you are in the network coverage area –
that is, when you’re not roaming).
